En route, visit the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking before proceeding with your journey to Masindi town for Lunch. Later proceed to the park entering through the Kichumbanyobo gate. Upon arrival, take a visit to the top of the falls where you will be rewarded with the fascinating sights of the Albert Nile crashing through the chasm. The majestic Nile forces it’s self in a narrow gap in a rock only 7 meters wide before pouring into a gorge 43 meters down, producing a thunderous roar and a rainbow. Be keen enough to uncover the game that Winston church hill described as the ‘great Kew gardens and the zoo combined on an unlimited scale’. If you are a lucky visitor, you can also spot the Leopard. The park is the largest in the country and its game drive can take about 4-5 hours and is the longest game drive in all Uganda’s game parks. Take your time to find out why Theodore Roosevelt spent an equivalent of today’s $1.8m in 1909 on his hunting safari in this park in which he took back with him 500 wildlife specimens including 5 Northern White Rhinos, 8 Elephants, 10 Uganda Kobs and a Shoebill Stalk in addition to 4900 mammals, 4000 birds, 2000 reptiles he went with at the end of his year- long East African safari. Return to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you will set out for the launch cruise along the Albert Nile where you will be able to come in close range with hippos, crocodiles, Oribis, buffalos among other animals and the spectacular bottom of the falls where it is said to be raining every day.
